Clint’s Three Simple Things You Can Check Before Calling For Help

#1 - Check Your Thermostat

Make sure it's on and set to AC. If the temperature setting is the same or higher than the room temperature, lower the setting a few degrees. (Sudden large changes in settings can cause stress on the system and result in more problems.) Wait a few minutes to see if your room starts cooling down.

#2 - Check The Air Filters

Every HVAC system uses air filters, and each unit will have a filter. Air filters look simple, but are very important to how your system operates. Dirty and clogged filters will make your AC run less effiently and can even prevent it from working correctly. Check all of your filters and see if they are dirty. If you notice a lot of dust, dirt and debris replace the filter and see if your AC begins cooling better again.

#3 - Check The Breakers

Storms and many other factors can cause breakers to "trip." This results in that breaker losing power. Locate your breaker box and look for the location of the breaker controlling your AC. #4 - Call A Professional Technician
